This anthology will only be publishing recipes with literature or visual art attached. All work must be within our guidelines, please be sure to familiarize yourself with them (below) before submitting your recipe(s) to MiniPress.


Guidelines

Only work submitted using the appropriate linked form located below the guidelines will be considered for publication.

The idea behind this anthology is to tap into sense memory. Where were you when you first had this recipe? What memories does it invoke for you when you have it now? Why is this recipe the recipe you want to share? We want the heartwarming and important stories behind your recipes!

Note: Memories and nostalgia can be complicated; oftentimes positive memories are dipped in bittersweet coatings, so please be gentle with yourselves when sifting through your past.

**All submissions must be in .DOC or .DOCX file format.**

  • Recipe:
    • Submit up to three recipe submissions, but each recipe should have its own packet and one attached literary or visual art piece.
    • Every submission packet must begin with the recipe in recipe format (below).
  • Poetry:
    • 1 Poem per recipe, no longer than one page.
    • Poetry should be previously unpublished.
  • Fiction and Flash:
    • Attach one fiction piece (up to 2,500 words) OR 1 flash fiction piece (up to 1,000 words) per recipe.
    • Double-spaced, proper indentation, and readable font required.
    • Pieces should be previously unpublished.
  • Nonfiction:
    • Attach one nonfiction piece (up to 2,500 words) OR 1 flash nonfiction piece (up to 1,000 words) per recipe.
    • Double-spaced, proper indentation, and readable font required.
    • Pieces should be previously unpublished.
  • Artwork, illustrations or photography:
    • Attach up to 5 images total as separate, high resolution .jpeg files. (This is in addition to the recipe .DOC/.DOCX)
    • Identify each image in the file name (e.g. The Cherry Cheesecake Incident of 1968, or, Grandma and I making pasteles at ages 65 and 5, etc.)
      • If you are submitting multiple recipes, please note which recipe each visual art piece belongs to.
    • Images should be previously unpublished.
  • We will not be accepting simultaneous submissions for this anthology. Our reading/response period will start on December 3rd, so you will hear from us within those two months!
  • We do not accept submissions that contain graphic sexual content, gratuitous violence/gore, or work that is racist, xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, or ableist.
  • Copyright for your work remains with you. We do ask, however, that contributors credit The Minison Project if their work is republished after first appearing in our anthologies, and we reserve the right to republish your work in future collections.
  • We are currently an unpaying market, but we do promote contributor work on our social medias.
